Following today’s announcement by the Welsh Government regarding the reopening of schools from the 29th of June. We are currently working on plans to re-open Ysgol Y Strade in as safe and effective a manner as possible. Please be assured that I will communicate with parents as soon as those plans are in place.
Ysgol Gyfun y Strade was established in 1977 as a mixed bilingual comprehensive school for students aged 11 to 18.
In September 2019 it will have well over 1,200 pupils, with an established first year intake of around 240.
The school is committed to maintaining and raising the standards of pupils’ work and behaviour, and to promote Welsh medium education in a bilingual community. The annual school development plan and improvement targets directly relate to these aims.

Official drop-off/collection point for parents bringing their children by car
In order to ensure pupil safety at the start and end of the day, Ysgol Y Strade continues to work in close collaboration with the County Transport and Highways Departments. I would remind parents that the official drop-off/collection
