Ysgol y Strade had very happy students collecting A Level results once again this year. 25% of all grades achieved were A*/A and 99% were A*- E . High flying students gained 16 A* and 41 A grades across 16 subjects :- Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, Art , Business, Health & Social Care, History, Politics , Religious Education, Geography, English, French, Public Services, ICT and the Welsh Baccalaureate.
Our most succesful students this year were Rhys Cotterell and Calum Williams. Rhys gained 3A*s in Mathematics, Physics and the Welsh Baccalaureate with an A in Chemistry and 2A grades in AS Further Maths and Biology,whilst Callum gained 3A* grades in Mathematics, Biology and Chemistry with an A in the Welsh Baccalaureate and an A grade in A/S History.
Other high achievers included: Emyr Al-Rawazik 1A* 2A 1B; Emily Bennett 2A 1B 1C; Steffan Collins 2A 1B; Sara Davies 4A 1B; Megan Griffiths 2A 1B; Morgan Jenkins 1A* 2B; Luke Rees Jones 2A 1B 1C; Aimee Kinzett 2A* 2A; Sion Tiplady 1A* 2A 1B; Gareth Williams 1A* 3A; Owain Hedd Williams 2A 2B.
Mr Geoff Evans, Headteacher at Ysgol y Strade said: “We are delighted with the success of our students across all subject areas and would like to congratulate them and acknowledge the commitment of our teaching staff and the support of our parents. Students have gained access to range of competitive university courses once again this year. We wish them all well on their future pathways. Year 12 AS students also collected results today and they compared very favourably with those in previous years .”
