The language course provides pupils with the opportunity of expanding and further developing their basic linguistic skills, namely, oral, reading and writing, enabling them to use the language in an effective, confident and correct manner in different situations. It is hoped to encourage a positive attitude towards the language ensuring that pupils gain enjoyment from its use.
There are three elements of the assessment scheme:
- Final assessment of oral work 30%
- Final assessment of reading and writing 40%
- Controlled assessments (reading and writing) 30%
The oral assessment will require constant practise and three tasks will be required to complete the course work. Such requirements demand that the pupils work consistently throughout the two years.
